SMA welcomes two new riders.
Eric "Tuma" Britton, a former pro for the team back in the early 90's, has rejoined the squad right for the World Cup Contest at the Etnies Park in Lake Forest (held during the 2006 Goofy vs. Regular contest weekend).
Morris Kyle is from Firebaugh, California, and made his debut as a SMA team rider at the World Cup Contest as well.

During the ASR, SMA held a little outdoor barbecue on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Washington Street Skate Park in San Diego. Skip performed duties as the chef and cooked hotdogs and hamburgers for everyone with an appetite. SMA would like to thank all who came, ate, hung out, and/or skated that day to make it very memorable for all who attended.
SMA welcomes back Jesse Martinez and Mark Jones and honorary SMA pro rider Pat Ngoho to the team.

Skate Lab (Simi Valley), DC Shoes, and Independent Truck Company held a fundraiser for Jay at Skate Lab on Saturday, February 4, 2006. All profits from the food, beer, auctions and the $10.00 admission raised over $22,000.00 which went to Jay's wife for his legal defense. Skip Engblom donated art and other skate-historical items which were auctioned off to help Jay.
