Concrete Disciples Death Race   Concrete Disciples had a Death Race (Pro and Am), HIghest Wallride, and Best Trick Contest at SkateLab on April 5, 2008. Some of the attendees and contestants included Tom Knox, Jesse Parker, Josh Borden, Justing Gorddon, Jimmy the Greek, Skreech, Brian Patch, Santa Barbara Mike, Punker Johnny, Zack Grove and many of the locals. Matt Boyster swept everything. He won the AM division of the Death Race and was allowed to skate with the pros. He then went on to beat all the Pros; otherwise Tom Knox would have won it.   Pro Death Race   AC shooting Bennett   Tom Knox.....   Jesse Parker   Highest Wall Ride The SkateLab locals killed this event. Most guys were barely getting to the bottom of the DVS logo. Matt clearly won it by getting the highest. To insure victory, he launched off the quarter pipe on the side and rode up the wall and clearly set an unbeatable mark. He then launched off that same quarter pipe, rode up the wall, grab the pipe on the ceiling, did an "Ape Hang" and dropped in back down the wall. There was no beating that. In case you forgot what an "Ape Hang" is: 1. Air big. (or in this case launch off a quarter pipe and ride up the wall) 2. grab onto the piping coming from the ceiling 3. hang as you eye your landing 4. drop back in.   Best Trick There was an extension made for this contest night which had a death box a mock pool light with pool coping. By the end of the night the masonite started cracking where it overlapped the existing metal coping. Here are some of the tricks. Matt won this event by pulling a huge stale fish from one extension to the other. The incredible part is that I was sitting on the wall next to the first extension and he hit my foot on the way up, grabbed stale, hit his helmeted head on the light fixture 8 feet above the second extension, and yet somehow pulled it...... Unfortunately, when he hit me it jarred my camera out of place so I couldn't get the shot.
